30 Days on a Hill
It’s been 4 weeks since I packed up my life in 3 boxes and moved half way across the world.
Somehow it has been the most peaceful and somewhat confusing time of my entire life
I haven’t had to worry about basic needs
I haven’t worried about NEPA or pumping machine😅
I haven’t heard any early morning annoying noise
Neither have I heard any machine or generator noise
It’s just quiet; every hour of every day
I have had more veggies than I did back home too
The air is cleaner and boy! it’s cold all through the day
I have also found myself a subtle big sister-yet again to my housemates
I think the most shocking part of it all is how much you realise that you don’t really have so much worries when you take out the worry for basic needs.
I have time to mentally relax and think
And in all these…
It just made me finally see how much it is that blessed green flag country takes from you
When you struggle for the most basic items in life it clouds your judgement and thinking about things that really matter
And the most interesting thing for me is that I haven’t been harassed since I entered this beautiful country
There’s nobody tailing me
There’s nobody dragging me in the market
There’s no fear of area boys.
I can stroll on my mountain street till 4am in the morning without worrying I will get jumped
All in all, the quality of my life in the last one month has considerably improved than all my years back home.
Life is good literally
And I sincerely hope for you-my reader that you don’t die in Nigeria without leaving even once
Because you truly live in a jungle😔
See you again, soon…
Hopefully I have more exciting stories to tell you again.
